Regular Collections
On each regular collection day (see below), the Trash Collector will pick up garbage and trash in approved bags, cans, boxes, or bundles—up to a maximum of four per residence (bags, cans, boxes, or bundles, or any combination of four of them)—from an eligible residence, if they are properly placed for collection at curbside (or in visible place) before 8:00 AM but not before 7:00 PM the night before the regular collection day. Regular collections are subject to the following:
- Only garbage or trash generated at an eligible residence by the person(s) residing there are eligible for collection.
- Only the following are eligible for regular collections:
- rubbish, trash, kitchen and household waste, ashes, paper, cardboard, and food containers, grass clippings, leaves, and small brush clippings, if placed in:
- approved bags (garbage bags that do not exceed 40-gal. capacity, or 40 lbs. weight, and are of sufficient strength to resist ripping or tearing when loaded and heavy); or
- approved boxes (made of heavy cardboard with not more than 30 gal. capacity and not more than 40 lbs. weight); or
- approved cans (regular garbage cans with lids, not to exceed 40-gal. capacity or 40 lbs. weight); and
- brush, tree limbs, and other similar materials (including very small or cut-up Christmas trees) that do not exceed three inches in diameter and are tied in bundles not exceeding one foot in diameter, three feet in length, or 40 pounds in weight (tied to hold them together when they are picked-up with one hand).
- rubbish, trash, kitchen and household waste, ashes, paper, cardboard, and food containers, grass clippings, leaves, and small brush clippings, if placed in:
- The following are not eligible for regular collections:
- items or materials generated by a contractor and/or sub-contractor
- items or materials generated elsewhere and moved to the residence
- rocks, bricks, roofing, building materials, carpeting or other trash resulting from building or remodeling
- scrap iron, car parts, heavy metals, vehicle tires, batteries, large pieces of furniture and mattresses.
- heavy trash items (see below)
- illegal waste, defined to include combustible items (gasoline, motor oil, paint, etc.), pesticides, herbicides, any material deemed to be hazardous or toxic under existing or future standards set by EPA or other regulatory agencies, and the items and materials listed below:

Regular Collection Days
Regular collection days (for garbage and trash) are Monday and Friday, except holidays (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day). If a holiday falls on a Monday, garbage and trash will be picked up the next day. If a holiday falls on a Friday, garbage and trash will be picked up on the next regular collection day (Monday).
Heavy Trash Collections
The Trash Collector picks up heavy trash on the second Saturday of each month (unless the District approves another day or an added day), subject to the following:
- Items eligible for heavy trash pick-up should be placed curbside before 8:00 AM but not before 7:00 PM the night before the scheduled heavy trash day.
- The following are eligible for heavy trash pick-up:
- Rocks, bricks, roofing, building materials, carpeting and other trash resulting from building or remodeling done at an eligible residence by the person(s) residing there
- Scrap iron, car parts, heavy metals, vehicle tires, packing boxes, cardboard, appliances not containing CFC refrigerant, large furniture, and mattresses
- Brush, tree limbs, etc. not to exceed 6 in. diameter or 4 ft. length, and whole Christmas trees
- The following are not eligible heavy trash pick-up:
- Garbage or trash eligible for regular collections (see above)
- Vehicle tires or illegal waste (defined above)
- Items containing CFC refrigerant or chemicals
